When I’m not running workshops, I’m still creating — just more quietly, and often just for myself. I enjoy being a learner too, and experimenting with various crafts to see if they are codifyable. I experiment with new materials, revisit familiar techniques, and give myself permission to play, make mistakes and follow ideas wherever they lead. Creativity, for me, is deeply connected to mindfulness, as the simple act of focusing on what’s in front of me, whether that’s folding paper, drawing a single line, or watching colour move across a surface. These moments of attention create space to think more clearly, reset emotionally, and reconnect with why creativity matters in the first place. Learning is an ongoing part of this process. I continue to explore new art forms, deepen my understanding of existing ones, and reflect on how creativity supports focus, problem-solving, and wellbeing (but vert occasionally frustration too!) What I learn during this quieter time feeds directly back into my workshops, not as theory, but as lived experience. Crafty Team Building supports colleague wellbeing by bringing creative hobbies into the workplace, removing barriers, deadline pressures, and the time-consuming learning curve that often puts people off trying something new. I’ve always believed in the value of this work. Our clients love it, and we’ve proven the concept through real delivery. But pitching for, and winning £2,000 in grant funding to support business growth is a different milestone altogether.
